Alexander Ruppel presented the Krasnodar Territory at the 14th Indian-Russian Forum in Moscow

The business dialogue brought together the heads of the constituent entities of Russia, federal ministries, departments, representatives of business, development institutions and public organizations.

The forum discussed cooperation in pharmaceuticals and healthcare, support for innovation and entrepreneurship, trade and logistics, tourism and cultural relations, digital transformation and e-commerce. The key event was a plenary session on the current state and prospects of bilateral trade and investment growth between India and Russia. The investment and export potential of the Krasnodar Territory was presented by Vice Governor Alexander Ruppel.

The Deputy Governor noted the region’s transportation and logistics advantages, including 9 ice-free seaports throughout the year, which together account for 30 per cent of all foreign trade cargoes in the country, as well as an extensive road network, which together make the region a favorable entry point to the market of the entire South of Russia.

The Vice-Governor emphasized that the Krasnodar Territory is interested in expanding the supply of goods to India. We are talking, first of all, about oil and fat products, beverages, wines and fruits, especially apples and pears.

At the same time, the Krasnodar Territory is a large market in itself. With a population of six million people and 18 million tourists annually, the region is a leader in the country in terms of the development of consumer industries. The supply of Indian products to the region is in demand, and cooperation opens up horizons for the development of joint ventures.

The presentation of the region aroused interest among the forum participants. After the plenary session, Alexander Ruppel held a number of talks with representatives of business circles and the Indian business community.
