The Governor of the Krasnodar Territory met with the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan

At a meeting in Astana, Veniamin Kondratyev and Anton Loginov discussed issues of cooperation and the development of trade and economic relations.

The Governor emphasized that Kazakhstan is one of the strategic partners, so the region is interested in strengthening cooperation, development of trade and economic ties.

«Our enterprises successfully supply agricultural products and fertilizers to Kazakhstan. We see prospects for further growth in trade.  First of all, through supplies of industrial products. Today, 40+ enterprises of the Krasnodar Territory produce equipment for the storage and processing of grain, the production of dairy, fat and oil products, sugar and packaging. And we will be increasing our capacity. That is why sales are important to us, both within the country and in neighboring countries,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

The Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that last year the trade turnover between the countries reached $26 billion. Based on the results of 9 months of this year, it is almost $19 billion.

«There is a significant potential for growth of Russian business in Kazakhstan. For Krasnodar enterprises, obviously, one of such areas is the agro-industrial complex. Kuban enterprises have extensive experience in the processing and storage of fruits and vegetables and grain, technologies in these industries are much less developed in the Republic and are in demand in the local market. I believe that this direction can become a starting point for expanding the region’s presence in Kazakhstan,» said Anton Loginov.

The head of the region noted that Kazakhstan has a large agro-industrial sector, and powerful enterprises are concentrated in the Krasnodar Territory, which produce combines, tractors, trailers and components, including in cooperation with Belarusian companies. The region can also increase supplies of construction materials and quality wine.

In recent years, the trade turnover between the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic has increased. Last year, it exceeded $340 million. From January to September 2023, the indicator also remains at a decent level — about $240 million.
