Krasnodar region sees nearly 50 per cent increase in online commerce growth

In the overall retail sales, the share of online purchases has notably increased from 11 per cent to 14 per cent over the past year.

 From January to September 2024, the region's online commerce reached a substantial 319 billion rubles, marking a significant 46 per cent increase compared to the previous year. The region ranks among the top five most active areas in terms of sales, with Kuban following Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Moscow region.

According to the Association of Internet Retailing Companies, the ranking of goods by online sales volume in Kuban differs from the national ranking. The top categories for online purchases in Kuban are household goods and furniture, accounting for almost 16 per cent of all purchases, followed by clothing and footwear at 15 per cent. The third-largest category is digital and household goods, with a 14 per cent share.

The pharmacy category has seen the most significant growth in turnover, with a 162 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. Other notable categories include tools, creative goods, food, jewelry and watches, all experiencing sales growth of around 120 per cent.
